Shamy Bash 09 in review…

shammyThe 3rd annual Shamy Bash was a huge success for all festival goers, Boogie Matrix Mechanism and host Jason Shamy.  Set on the familiar Frontier Ranch in Pataskala Ohio, Shamy Bash took it up a notch this year by bringing in headliner Keller Williams to play the nightcap on Saturday.  With a stellar lineup also including the Werks, the Spikedrivers, Rumpke Mountain Boys, One Under, Jahman Brahman and more, Boogie Matrix was honored to land the opening spot for Keller.

Boogie rocked out nearly all their new tracks from just-released album Laser Grape as the sun set on over 1,000 festival goers on Saturday night. They opened up with the smooth sounds of the Last Hurrah, Witness & Cracking Up before turning the show pyschadelic with the energetic Gifts and a nasty Funhouse into Festilove that ushered in nightfall.  Just when the positive vibes seemingly had reached fever pitch, Keller Williams joined the Mechanism on stage and “traded 8′s” with percussionist Aaron Armstrong on Pictia!  With the band figuratively floating on Cloud 9 and many of the fans literally doing the same… Boogie harnessed the “Keller energy” into dance crazy classics Overloaded Clown Car and LIBMRDUKS!

These already progressive songs took on a whole new energy with intense lights and 2 large screens creating an audio visual experience few ShamyBashers will forget anytime soon.  With the set nearly finished and Keller’s performance fast approaching… Boogie had time for one more and they didn’t disappoint with the epic and Shamy Bash favorite Mushroom Hunting to close things out.  A fitting finish to an all-around incredible weekend… much love to all in attendance and Jason Shamy for making it all possible.
